Oskar Zięta at Galleria Sacchetti, CCAA

Galleria Sacchetti, CCAA (Centro di Cultura e d'Arte Ascona)

Via Beato P. Berno 14 CH-6612 Ascona

This summer at the Sacchetti Gallery in southern Switzerland, Oskar Zięta's metal objects were part of the theme of the exhibition "Distortions". The artistic meeting at the heart of the CCAA juxtaposed the steel FiDU deformations with the works of Dirk Salz, Gilles Van Schuylenbergh, and Andrea Valsecchi.

Exploration of unobvious

The exhibition treats distortions in the context of creative momentum. It presents works by four artists who explore macroscopic transformations of material and microscopic play of pigments. Zięta's objects take these considerations literally, evoking light-reflecting stories about material research, colorization and deformation.

Interpretations of colour and steel

A strong accent is the Rondo Helix Nebula triptych, a concept combining the beauty of reflections of polished steel with the perceptual depth of optical treatments. It is a gradient interpretation of planetary nebulae shades reflected on the surfaces of RONDO objects. It is a steel-inflated narrative of anisotropic design possibilities, achieved using the cosmic potential of FiDU technology.

Walls sprinkled with meanings

The threads of steel deformations are continued by a constellation of Tafla metal mirrors. These wall objects tell a story about the evolution of a drop of water, and how it changes shape, from rounded dew to the angular edges of glacier shelves.
In the vicinity of the dominant Rondo and Tafla objects, there is a wall subtly sprinkled with Kamyki wall decors.

The presence of an icon

During the exhibiting presence of steel deformations, the iconic PLOPP stool, or Polish Folk Air-Pumped Object, cannot be missing. Zięta's strongest technological manifesto. In the Sacchetti Gallery, accompanied by the Chippensteel chair.

The subtlety of contrasts

A side, yet distinct and unique thread of the story of deformations is the metal sculpture Anthropod located in the gallery patio. Its geometry contrasts with the warm architecture of the space, and its dynamics deal with the concept of movement suspended in time (human development, science, and technology).
