Transforming metal sheets into art
"Blown Away" offers an immersive journey into Oskar Zięta's innovative approach to form and material. Central to the exhibition is his patented FiDU technology (from the German Freie Innendruck Umformung, which translates into English as “free inner pressure forming.”), a revolutionary process that involves inflating metal sheets to create robust yet delicate structures. Through this technique, Zięta transforms ordinary materials into fluid, captivating sculptures and functional art pieces that challenge conventional notions of space, structure, and utility. The result is a seamless blend of industrial precision and organic elegance.
"Blown Away" Oskar Zięta’s First Solo Exhibition in Singapore
Oskar Zięta unveils the first solo exhibition "Blown Away" in Singapore, set to premiere during this year’s Singapore Design Week. Hosted by PHILIA x ART NOW, the exhibition will feature a curated selection of Zięta's most iconic creations alongside exclusive pieces commissioned specifically for this event.
Unique selection
The exhibition will showcase several standout pieces, including the impressive Kraken sculpture—a steel interpretation of the mythical sea creature—alongside the Crystal Totem, which combines mirrored geometric shapes with smooth, inflatable metal forms. Another highlight, Mercury, features 89 air-inflated, stone-like structures arranged in a seemingly chaotic circle, creating a mesmerizing visual effect. Additionally, the exhibition will feature the iconic Tafla metal mirrors and a range of Zieta's experimental sculptural works.
Interdisciplinarity for the future
"Blown Away" is not just an exhibition; it is an invitation to explore the visionary world of Oskar Zięta, where art, design, and innovation merge to challenge the conventional boundaries of contemporary design.
