Zieta Studio and Samsung at WOW!house 2024 in Chelsea Harbour
The art/tech discourse is increasingly being taken up in exhibition spaces. The Samsung × Zieta Studio display during WOW!house points out one of the threads of these interdisciplinary discussions in an avant-garde yet subtle way. A fusion of art, technology, and engineering, in-depth research, and an extraordinary sensitivity to beauty—Crystals The Frame at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbor, until July 4, 2024.
Evolution of crystals
The symbol of Oskar Zięta’s creations is metal. The artist experiments with scale and form, as well as the social and aesthetic potential of steel objects. This manifests detailed studies of the properties of metal, techniques for stabilizing metal and optimizing its forms. Crystals The Frame is a continuation of the Crystals concept continually developed and explored by Zięta. In the sculptural dimension experienced as Urban Crystals; in design, manifested in the form of the Crystals Table and Console, or the latest Crystals Kap in the Zieta Lighting line.
Kaleidoscopic experiences
The Crystals concept combines the technological threads of the metal deformation story and maximizes the potential for reflections in polished surfaces. Last year, Urban Crystals reflected the contexts of the 14th edition of the Art Dubai fair. Oskar Zięta presented his hypercubic concept of the portal of the future in the vicinity of the dynamic DIFC Gate building, where Urban Crystals collided and amplified the architectural and historical power of the triumphal arches.
Reflected arts
Urban Crystals moved to Dubai from Wrocław, where it reflected the majesty of the Baroque gardens of the city’s Royal Palace. It was an extension of the unconventional exhibition Distortions of Reflections, Reflections of Distortion. The prototype of these urban kaleidoscopes was the Crystals concept, first presented by the artist during the light festival in 2018 at the Jerke Museum in Germany, dedicated to Polish avant-garde art. Zięta then joined the distinguished group of artists who had previously visited this space, such as Władysław Strzemiński, Katarzyna Kobro and Wojciech Fangor.
Reflected planes of interpretation
The British edition of Crystals The Frame boldly continues the story about light and reflected art. Carefully refined frame angles multiply and curve images from Samsung multimedia displays. Kaleidoscopically reflected works are interwoven with reflections of the surroundings and observers. Crystals The Frame raises many levels of interpretation on its metal surface. It deals strongly with technology, hypnotizing with the power of solid and reflected objects.
In the depth of the picture
The Zieta × Samsung cooperation had its beginnings during the Zieta Illustrated project. There, Samsung The Frame TVs perfectly complemented the technological and artistic theme of the exhibition. Gradually, the shared passion for continuous development, fascination with light, technology and colour turned into the complete composition Crystals The Frame. An object that defines the depth of the image and picture.
We invite you to experience the duo sculpted by art and technology together.
