MATERIAL BOOM

Our Plopps and FIDU bench can be found on an exhibition "Material Boom" in Cieszyn:

All the objects that surround us are made of of various materials. Some of them are made using nanotechnology. In the case of others, traditional craft solutions are very popular. Sometimes those two, seemingly contradictory worlds, are joined together. Glass, known to mankind for thousands of years, is continued to be produced by the same traditional method. However, at the same time, technological advances allows the production of glass fiber or glass sheet 0.03 mm thick. Materials can take many different faces in different products. Often we are unaware of how many designers’ and engineers’ creativity is required for solutions that appear to be simple, even obvious. The products displayed at the exhibition are the best proof of that. Objects from different countries around the world distinguish themselves not with an innovative approach to the material of which they are made, but also only take into account the requirements of sustainable development and the latest trends in design.

"Material boom!" exhibition is a subjective choice of materials and products. It allows us to see the surrounding reality in a completely new, "material" way. I would like to in the most interesting materials used in design and architecture. I hope it will encourage entrepreneurs to implement innovative solutions in Poland and thus increase competitiveness in an increasingly global market.
